The May 22 Gala is just one week away! The event features Symone Sanders-Townsend as Master of Ceremonies with an unforgettable performance from Tony Award winner Patina Miller. We are delighted to present the Beth Newburger Schwartz Award to the Honorable Marcia L. Fudge in recognition of Fudge’s illustrious career in public service. Co-chairs Nick Goad and Alethia Jackson are planning a fantastic event. The evening starts with a cocktail reception with unique artist experiences, includes a seated dinner, award presentation and performance on the Fichandler Stage with a reception at the end of the night with dancing and late-night treats. This week is also the Voices of Now Festival! Performances are Wednesday-Saturday at 7:30pm. VON Festival Tickets. Trustees are strongly encouraged to witness first hand the wonderful artistry of Voices of Now (VON), Arena’s own devised theater program. This year there were almost 100 young artists from the D.C. Metropolitan area. Devised theater starts with people instead of a script and each ensemble met once or twice a week during the spring. VON plays are fast-paced, collaborative, physical, and reflect of the most urgent and pressing issues impacting artists and your people from our communities. It is a highly collaborative process where the ensembles source, gather, and investigate autobiographical stories in order to develop an original performance piece. Following the performance each night of the Festival there will be a conversation and a reception with cookies and juice.

BakerHostetler again is inviting Arena Stage Trustees and guests to a Sunday afternoon in its suite at Nationals Park, this year on July 7 (1:35 P.M.) for the Nationals game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Please see the weekly Wednesday email for how to snag your spot!
